We’re writing to reassure our staff and clients that as the COVID-19 outbreak develops, we will continue to monitor the latest advice very closely indeed and update our polices and procedures accordingly so that we keep those who work with us and the people we care for as safe as we possibly can.
We recognise that the 24-hour clinical support we always offer to staff is more important than ever and we have continued to keep that in place, along with access to up to date COVID-19 training online.
Our full Coordination Team has been working from home, but are now all back in the office, with adaptations for social distancing in place. As always, they can be reached by clients and staff anytime between 7am and 10pm, 7 days a week.
We’re looking forward to a time when we can again meet people who would like to join us as Nurses, Carers or Support Workers in person, but we are continuing with video-call interviews for the time-being. Some people have found this to be more convenient and it has been a better substitute than we expected.
We are also continuing to blend small group, socially-distanced, in-person induction and training sessions with high quality online modules for our agency staff.
We have, however, increased the number of in-person Complex Care and ABI Training courses we deliver so that we can continue to offer this key learning in person, but in very small groups. We will soon be opening our new training suite which will give us more options for flexible training.
We are confident that we have a very robust system in place for protecting our Complex Care and Support clients, as well as operating two distinct teams on the agency side for nursing and care homes with and without COVID-19.
These are certainly challenging times, but we continue to go above and beyond to look for ways to help. Whether it’s assisting charities who are struggling for PPE or offering clinical debriefing and support sessions for organisations and individuals who have been deeply affected by recent events, our mission is to change care for the better, no matter what the circumstances.
With all good wishes to you and your families,
Rory, Kate and Brian McDonnell, Directors – Cavalry Healthcare
